Our Menu

An extensive range to suit you whatever your preference

You'll find all the classics on our coffee menu: cappuccinos, long blacks, flat whites… But you'll also find a few different coffees, too, just to keep things interesting.

These will change from shop to shop, depending on the whims and fancies of our baristas and their favourite customers. So feel free to ask about the menu and maybe try something new!

Tried and Tested

  • Espresso

    It’s what you get when you force about 70mls of water through a handful of finely ground coffee using 200kg of pressure: 30-odd grams of silky-rich goodness. It’s short and intense and can either be drunk alone or used as the foundation of most of the other drinks on our menu.

  • Macchiato

    An espresso with a small dollop of foam, it is Italian for "marked" or "stained". Often referred to as "espresso macchiato", it’s perfect for those who’re looking to take the edge off their espresso.

  • Latte/Cappuccino

    The sweetest of espressos layered with a decadently textured milk and finished-off with an artistic flourish, the cappuccino and latte are classics of the coffee world. At Harris + Hoole, we texture our cappuccino milk a little more than our latte milk for an especially decadent finish.

  • Long black/Americano

    The recipe is simple – hot water + espresso – but it remains a firm favourite throughout the coffee- loving world. Piping hot when served, this coffee undergoes a transformation as its cools down. So give it a coupla minutes before drinking it to savour the full spectrum of flavours that this classic has to offer.

What We Like

  • Piccolo

    It’s kinda like a flat white, only stronger and smaller. One part espresso, one part milk, it’s for those who like their coffees milky and strong.

  • Flat white

    A classic of the Antipodes, this is similar to a latte or a cappuccino, only with “flatter” (that is, less textured) milk. Credit to the Aussies for calling it like they see it.

  • Filter

    Often overlooked as a poor man’s coffee, the filter coffee is in fact the only way to drink some of the world’s finest coffees. Using a far gentler brew method than the espresso, the filter brew allows us to revel in all the subtleties and complexities of our favourite origins and roasters.

Not Just Coffee

  • Teas

    Buzz words like organic and fair trade mean little if they are not backed up by quality. Our tea is all 3 of these - organic, and fair trade, but also loose, whole leaf teas. We serve black, green, oolong and white teas as well as rooibos and peppermint tissanes. These are brewed at temperatures and times specific to the tea to make them taste as good as they possibly can.

  • Hot Chocolate

    Our chocolate is unique to Harris + Hoole. We are using 50% cocoa solids cacao sourced from Ghana through Union Hand Roasted. It has enough sweetness to energise with a hint of chocolatey bitterness.
